LASER HAIR REMOVAL

It works by the selective targeting of hair follicles in the skin with a laser. The laser's wavelength pulse width characteristics are determined in a manner in which the hair follicle is heated and therefore damaged/destroyed, while there is no damage to adjacent skin structures. Thus, we select a wavelength which gets absorbed in melanin (the pigment which gives hair its colour) and a pulse width which is short enough to heat up the hair follicle without the heat being lost by diffusion,and long enough to allow the surrounding skin to lose heat absorbed by thermal diffusion.

To get permanent hair removal, (as opposed to long growth delays), it is important to also target those areas of the skin where new hair follicle growth gets initiated. New Look has unique laser technology, which also targets these areas, and damages them. Thus, there is the real possibility of permanent hair removal embedded in our technology.

Because laser hair removal targets only growing hair follicles, we can only destroy about 20% of the hair follicles in any one session. Thus, laser hair removal requires several sessions for complete hair removal.
